Baltimore Ravens Apply Non-Exclusive Franchise Tag on Quarterback Lamar Jackson"

According to the article from baltimoreravens.com, the Baltimore Ravens have applied the non-exclusive franchise tag on their quarterback Lamar Jackson. This move ensures that Jackson will remain with the Ravens for the 2021 NFL season and he is not allowed to negotiate with other teams unless the Ravens permit him to do so.

If Jackson signs the tag, he will be guaranteed a one-year contract worth the average of the top five salaries at his position. However, Jackson and the Ravens have until July 15 to negotiate a long-term contract. If they fail to reach an agreement by that date, Jackson will play the 2021 season under the franchise tag.

The non-exclusive tag means that other teams can still make an offer to Jackson, but the Ravens have the right to match it. If the Ravens choose not to match, they will receive two first-round draft picks as compensation.

Jackson has been an important player for the Ravens since he joined the team in 2018, leading them to two playoff appearances and winning the NFL MVP award in 2019. The Ravens hope to sign him to a long-term contract and secure his future with the team for years to come.
