Darren Waller is a professional American football player who currently plays as a tight end for the Las Vegas Raiders in the National Football League (NFL). He was born on September 13, 1992, in Landover, Maryland, USA.
Waller played college football at Georgia Tech, where he was primarily a wide receiver. He was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the sixth round of the 2015 NFL Draft but was suspended for the entire 2017 season due to violations of the league's substance abuse policy.
After being reinstated by the NFL, Waller joined the Raiders in 2018 and quickly established himself as one of the league's top tight ends. In the 2019 season, he recorded 90 receptions for 1,145 yards and three touchdowns, earning his first Pro Bowl selection. He followed that up with another impressive season in 2020, with 107 receptions for 1,196 yards and nine touchdowns, which earned him his second Pro Bowl selection and a spot on the All-Pro team.
Off the field, Waller has been very open about his struggles with addiction and has become an advocate for those dealing with similar issues. He has also established the Darren Waller Foundation, which aims to support at-risk youth and families affected by addiction.
