Landry Shamet made a strong return to the Phoenix Suns' lineup on March 19, 2023, after missing several games due to injury. Despite his efforts, however, the Suns ultimately fell to the Oklahoma City Thunder by a score of 110-105.
Shamet played 29 minutes off the bench, scoring 21 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the field, including 5-of-9 from beyond the arc. He also added 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal.
The 24-year-old guard had missed the previous three games with a sprained ankle, but showed no signs of rust in his return. Shamet's scoring output was a welcome boost for the Suns, who were without several key players, including Devin Booker, who was out with a knee injury.
Despite Shamet's strong performance, the Suns were unable to secure the victory over the Thunder. The team struggled defensively, allowing Oklahoma City to shoot 48.8% from the field and 41.9% from three-point range. The Suns also had a difficult time taking care of the ball, committing 16 turnovers compared to the Thunder's 8.
The loss dropped the Suns to 49-23 on the season, while the Thunder improved to 30-42. The Suns will look to bounce back in their next game against the Memphis Grizzlies on March 22, 2023.
